Neighborhood Assistance Program returns to Richmond and Friends of the Farris, Inc.
June 13, 2008 - Missouri State Senator Bill Stouffer announced to a large group of supporters gathered at the Farris Theatre that Friends of the Farris, Inc. has been awarded a 70% Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Tax Credit by the Missouri Department of Economic Development to complete the Farris Arts District Project. The NAP will generate $368,850 in donations for the project over the next 36 months and leverage $258,195 in State of Missouri Tax Credits to qualified donors. The Farris Arts District Project will renovate and preserve two historic buildings in downtown Richmond that are presently underutilized and are in danger of being condemned by city government and further will protect the existing Farris theatre building.Combined with the Farris Theatre building, these three buildings will become the Farris Arts District and will be used to provide a place for rehearsals, costume and prop storage, classrooms, meeting rooms, art gallery space and a museum of Farris Theatre memorabilia and other local arts related history. As of June 1, 2011 all NAP credits have been sold. Thank you NAP donors for making the FAD Project possible.
